The Archive Collections
In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Stockport Grammar School’s move to the Hallam site in 1916 the Old Stopfordians’ Association has pledged an initial generous donation enabling the school to re-establish its archive materials through this online collection.
The menu indicates the material currently available. This will be regularly updated as funds become available.
Donate your materials
We are always keen to add relevant materials to the Archives. Photographs, publications and memorabilia directly related to Stockport Grammar School all increase the richness of the collections. Should you have any items relating to your, or a relative’s, time at the school that you would like to donate, please get in touch with the Head of Development, Aria Johnston, at oldstops@stockportgrammar.co.uk.
School Artefacts
The School’s archive collection contains a variety of additional artefacts dating back to the late 19th century. A collection of these artefacts put together by the School Archivist, Mr Stuart Helm, is available to view at the School by appointment.
Finding out more
Mr Helm’s book ‘Stockport Grammar School The Years of Expansion 1980-2012’ reflects a summary of the numerous developments and initiatives since the acquisition of the current buildings and the introduction of girls.
It gives the reader a sense of direction and continuity and an insight into what has been an extraordinary period of growth in the School’s history.
